Differences between single and redundant network license managers.

ZWCAD supports two network license managers, Single and Redundant Network Licence Manager (NLM).

  • Single network license manager: You manage all licenses on your network through a single server. The advantage of this manager is that it requires only one server to configure the license. The disadvantage is that if the single license server is down, ZWCAD with floating license can't run on any computer in the network until the server is back.

  • Redundant network license manager: You manager all license on you network through three servers, and each of them are available to authenticate licenses. Licenses are being issued as long as at least two of the servers are functional. The advantage of this manager is that if one of the three servers is down, all licenses still can be accessed. The disadvantage is that it requires robust network communications in the subnet in which all the three servers are located.
