In many cases, the server shows the license is ready to distribute, but the workstation failed to get floating license. If there is Symantec on the server, then you should make some settings as below to make it works.
- Fix the ports in .Lic file, you can check the log file to know which 2 ports are using now, then just use that, or you can ask the customer which port is available for use.
- Add rule in Policies->Firewall, allow the 2 fixed ports go through the firewall. The port direction is not import, can choose anyone, can set as below shown.
- After adding, then right click the service column as below figure shown, and click edit, untick the 2 ports(the key step), then click ok to finish.
- Go to the Client tab, and click refresh button, wait a while for updating the policy serial number.
- Go to check the Symantec client policy serial number (the last 3 number should be the same as the server), Help->troubleshooting, if different, click update button.
- Then check the license issue solved or not.
