TEXT/MTEXT is displayed error (the whole MTEXT object, not some text information in MTEXT object), such as “???” or unreadable characters.

| 1 | Missing the font file to display it, you can know the font name from text style dialog box (STYLE command). The style name can be found in property panel. | Copy the missing font (SHX file) to FONT folder from the one created the drawing, or you can download it from web. |
| 2 | The TTF font file is missing. While install ACAD, it will install some TTF font in the windows fonts folder (C:\Windows\ Fonts). If you uninstall ACAD, all the related TTF font will be uninstalled, which may cause the text display error. | Save all the additional TTF font files that ACAD installed, after uninstall ACAD, add the TTF font files back to windows fonts’ folder. For example, in ACAD 2008, it includes “txt.ttf” and “umath.ttf”. |
| 3 | Confliction with the region and language setting | Modify the language setting as the same language to support the text display, for example, set it as Korean to display Korean character. |
Small tip: if you cannot get the specified font file, the second choice is that you can select the similar font to display text, for example, simplex.shx/visiotc.shx is always ok for displaying traditional Chinese.
